Beantown indie darlings Aberdeen City
, who recently signed to Sony, grace our stage this month at Hartford's only indie dance night, Shag Frenzy
. They've been lumped together with Interpol, U2, Radiohead, Coldplay, and a host of others in the press, but they have a sound all their own and their only CT stop on this tour is right here in beautiful, downtown Hartford. Plus, it's resident deejay Johnny Strangler's
birthday! Come celebrate inebriation and aging with the only deejay around who can play the new, unreleased stuff by LCD Soundsystem, The Shins, !!! (Chk Chk Chk),
and new remixes of tracks by Radio 4, VHS Or Beta, Hot Chip, Lily Allen, Ratatat, The Rapture,
and loads of others. We're trying to bring some bands around here that are national and international, so please come out and show some support if you love indie music and nightclubbing.
We're ending the year in some fast fashion with the usual strap-to-arse dj sets by Stephanie Disco, Johnny Strangler and Garage Flower, plus our special guest band The Picture, all the way from Metropolis, er, New York.
Still no cover, still bigtime rocknroll fuss and disco trash.
Check out some tunes by The Picture HERE.

It was brilliant last night. Absolutely fucking brilliant! If you made it, you are thanked, loved and appreciated. If you didn't, we have one more scheduled next month and that is it so far. We need to keep Factory positive about the night. Please come out if you can in August on the 19th. Death In Jim will be spinning some tunes with us, and that always spells excitement with a capital E. Speaking of E, I played so much acid and baggy last night that I really felt like the Factory club was Fac 51 The Hacienda. Loved up for sure.
Pics are up. They are here
Some faves of the evening:
AMY and HEATHER proudly displaying their song request for a track off the new Muse LP.
I've no clue who stripey girl is, but from the rear she looks fabulous.
AMY and my favourite gal SARA dancing to my acid house beats.
Tonight, 1 July, is our final club night at The Webster Underground. We've decided to take up an offer that neither us nor Fredo could refuse. So please, if you can, support us at the lasy hurrah in the original location. We're going to have a blast, and I plan on playing Haddaway's "What Is Love" in order to be Roxbury'ed by lovely ladies as I was last night. Maybe even another slow dance number full of those old awkward high school slow tempos we loved so well.
SEND REQUESTS, NO MATTER HOW WACKY THEY ARE!!! THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE FULL OF POMP, CIRCUMSTANCE, CAMP and KITSCH!
9PM sharp, 18+, $5...we want the dancefloor moving all night long. So do it.
